Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the goods in function, coordinating tasks and activities to ensure effective operational demands are met.
  2. Oversee the overall productivity within the designated team.
  3. Ensure activities are cost-effective.
  4. Manage levels of manpower and other resources.
  5. Support operational change while minimising disruption to production and service.
  6. Manage and coordinate operational activities to ensure the required level of service is provided to the customer.
  7. Maintain and improve performance levels to maximise efficiency of operation in line with site KPIs.
  8. Attend briefings and ensure effective communications within the Operational Team.
  9. Communicate issues and information to the line manager, such as transport, delivery schedules, warehouse accuracy, or general warehouse queries.
  10. Develop and motivate team members, meeting with them regularly.
  11. Advise, lead, and motivate team members, allowing them to implement corrective measures. Maintain and promote good industrial and employment relations on site, addressing potential problems early.
What We're Looking For
  1. Previous experience in a supervisory role in a Warehouse operation (desirable).
  2. Previous experience of goods in with demonstrable attention to detail and accuracy.
  3. Sufficient experience and knowledge of warehouse operation to effectively manage the designated area and provide an excellent level of service to the customer.
  4. Ability to support the Warehouse Manager in performance management, development, mentoring, and coaching of team members.
  5. Ability to coordinate and delegate within a team while remaining operationally hands-on, capable of coordinating daily activities.
  6. Methodical and able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise workload and tasks.
  7. Possess an understanding of warehouse management systems and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  8. Understanding of and ability to apply warehouse, health, safety, and security laws and regulations.
  9. Ability to react within a complex and growing operational environment.
  10. Forward thinking with the ability to 'think on your feet'.
