The Role: Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in assisting individuals with support needs and/or learning disabilities to live fulfilling lives. You will provide practical and emotional support, helping them achieve their goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting individuals with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Providing companionship and social support, encouraging participation in activities and outings.
  • Promoting independence and self-advocacy by empowering individuals to make choices and take control of their lives.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

Essential Qualities

  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with support needs and/or learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Practical skills and experience in providing personal care and support.
  • A commitment to upholding ethical standards and safeguarding individuals' well-being.

Registration Requirements

This role requires registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Applicants who are not registered will have 6 months in which to register. Applicants already registered must inform the SSSC of their employment with The Action Group.

This post also requires PVG clearance. Applicants who are not members of the PVG scheme should be prepared to join before commencing employment.
