Business Systems Analyst - Specialty Insurance

A Business Systems Analyst is sought to contribute to a leading specialty insurance firm undergoing a significant transformation towards an Agile and Product-centric model.

This position will be integral to the underwriting product division, aiding in the deployment of a comprehensive range of products throughout the organization, while also playing a vital role in actualizing the company's overarching product vision.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in London Market specialty insurance, with a proven track record in system deployment and integration, alongside exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to foster robust relationships both internally and externally.

As the company expands, this role offers extensive exposure to diverse workstreams and a continuously evolving product portfolio, making it suitable for a proactive individual eager to enhance their existing expertise in a dynamic setting.

This is a permanent remote position, requiring only occasional on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering a comprehensive set of requirements to facilitate product modifications in accordance with the established delivery framework.
  • Gaining a thorough understanding of processes from both technical and user perspectives and their implications for the business.
  • Leveraging various data sources to identify trends and inform decisions that drive change.
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of different components of our ecosystem as needed, providing clear and actionable feedback and recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaborating closely with delivery teams to translate business needs into user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • Assisting in the product incident management process through prioritization and investigation.
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Business Analyst within the Lloyd's/London Market specialty insurance sector.
  • Proven experience in delivering insurance products, along with knowledge of various product offerings and underwriting tools.
  • Familiarity with data models, APIs, and SQL.
  • Experience with Kanban and Scrum methodologies, as well as Agile practices.
  • Strong relationship management capabilities, with a keen attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
