About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Inverness. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing a varied client portfolio, providing quality tax advice, and overseeing the provision of tax services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, including individuals, trusts, partnerships, and LLPs
  • Provide tax advice, including inheritance and capital gains tax planning
  • Review work completed by junior team members and provide constructive feedback
  • Lead liaison with HMRC and handle queries effectively on behalf of clients
  • Build trusted client relationships and act as their go-to advisor for information and support
  • Work closely with other departments to obtain relevant information
  • Monitor commercial aspects of portfolio management and ensure deadlines and fee recovery targets are met
  • Keep up-to-date with tax knowledge and champion knowledge sharing across the team
  • Delegate work to junior staff and oversee workflow to monitor team performance and identify training opportunities

Requirements
  • ACCA/ACA/CTA qualified or part-qualified
  • Proven track record of providing personal tax compliance services
  • Demonstrable experience in providing tax advice within a practice environment
  • Supervisory experience with good people management skills
  • Self-motivated, professional, and eager to progress
  • Technically efficient across the field of tax advisory
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills, including SAGE, Xero, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Commercial business acumen
