Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Service Manager to join our operational management team within the Women's and Children's Care Group at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and operational delivery of high-quality, patient-focused services, while driving forward an existing improvement agenda.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Oversee the operational management of clinical services within Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care.
  • Leadership and Management: Provide effective leadership and line management for all staff, identifying staffing needs and managing recruitment, training, deployment, leave, and development.
  • Performance Management: Lead the delivery of performance targets in the NHS plan to improve access to and quality of patient services.
  • Improvement Initiatives: Develop, test, and implement new ways of working to improve patient services, tackle staff shortages, and increase job satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Current leadership and management experience in a clinical service.
  • Education: Degree in clinical specialty/management or equivalent experience.
  • Postgraduate Qualification: Postgraduate management/leadership qualification or willingness to undertake a postgraduate certificate in management/leadership.
  • NHS Knowledge: Attendance of the NHS Leading Empowered Organisations course.
Working for Our Organisation

We operate from three main hospitals, providing a range of General Hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.

Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals, and our main hospitals.
