The Role & Candidate Profile
We are excited to announce a senior administrative opportunity within the Centre for Developmental and Complex Trauma (CDCT) for a Course Coordinator for Postgraduate Programs and Conference Administrator. This pivotal role is essential to our thriving academic community.
The successful candidate will play a vital role within the Education, Research, and Training unit, contributing to the overarching goals of the CDCT, which focuses on improving outcomes for individuals who have experienced adverse events and trauma. The CDCT is expanding its portfolio of research, continuous professional development (CPD), and postgraduate courses, as well as establishing an international conference program.
The Course Coordinator will be responsible for delivering administrative support for our postgraduate course offerings, in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences at the University of Buckingham. This includes close collaboration with both the CDCT and university teams to ensure seamless course operations. Additionally, the role involves supporting the development and execution of our international conference program, which entails liaising with global speakers and managing the technological aspects of conference events. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess strong organizational skills, and demonstrate the ability to meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in TEAMs, ZOOM webinars, and Microsoft applications, along with effective communication skills across the academic spectrum, are essential. The ability to prioritize workloads and escalate conflicting priorities is also crucial.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to initiatives that enhance the charity's capacity to deliver high-quality care.
About the Centre for Developmental and Complex Trauma
The Centre is dedicated to advancing clinical practices that lead to improved outcomes for individuals who have faced repeated trauma. Our core principles include:
- Enhancing the lives and outcomes of those affected by trauma.
- Bridging the gap between academic knowledge and clinical practice.
- Raising awareness of the trauma experiences and care needs of marginalized populations.
Our focus is on understanding the holistic impact of trauma and ensuring that those affected are at the center of our activities aimed at improving service effectiveness. This will be achieved through research, hosting CPD events, and influencing national policy to reflect the voices and needs of our communities.
We strive to support the development of care models based on research that is both academically rigorous and clinically relevant, employing individuals with lived experience and providing comprehensive training to enhance the quality of survivor research. Our service evaluation and research initiatives will maintain a strong clinical focus, reporting findings that address the needs of our populations.
