About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Practitioner Scrub Specialist to join our team at Cromwell Hospital. As a key member of our operating department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and positioning of patients for surgical procedures, ensuring accurate labeling and dispatch of specimens to the laboratory.
  • Contribute to the control of cross-infection by adhering to departmental policies and procedures regarding dress, cleanliness, and sterilization.
  • Participate in the induction and orientation of new staff, promoting a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Prepare patients for clinical and operative procedures, both in anaesthetics and surgery.
  • Provide assistance in clinical and operative procedures, both anaesthetics and surgery.
  • Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner, ensuring patient, visitor, and staff safety.
  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate peri-operative patient care.
  • Delegated and supervise junior grades, unqualified, and less experienced staff.
Requirements
  • 1st level registration Adult and/or Children or Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies / ODP Level 3 NVQ / ODA 752.
  • Previous perioperative experience in various specialties, including Gynaecology, Urology, General, Plastics, or Kidney Transplant.
  • NMC or HCPC registered.
  • Ability to deliver high standards of care.
  • Knowledge of current professional nursing issues.
