Job Title: Agency Operating Department Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Agency Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our vibrant team at Willing Care. As an ODP, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients in reputable private hospitals.

About the Role

As an Agency ODP, you will work alongside expert multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the highest levels of patient safety and well-being during surgical procedures. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of the operating room and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Providing pre-operative care to patients, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications
  • Collaborating with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical experience for patients
  • Monitoring patients during surgery and providing immediate assistance as required
  • Participating in post-operative patient care, including pain management and wound care
  • Adhering to strict infection control protocols and maintaining a clean and safe operating environment
  • Documenting patient information and maintaining accurate medical records
  • Participating in continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest advancements in perioperative care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BSc (Hons) in Operating Department Practice or Registered General Nurse qualification
  • Clear and valid registration with the HCPC or NMC
  • Proven experience as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) - Scrub, Anaesthetics or Recovery (Minimum 6 months)
  • Strong understanding of perioperative care principles and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse healthcare teams
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient safety, dignity, and respect
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing situations
