Project Manager - Construction

This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive, family-run SME based in Shrewsbury as a Project Manager - Construction. The company is a market leader in their sector, offering a competitive salary, support, and career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating multiple sites across the UK, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Managing site setup and monitoring of all trades remotely, utilizing technical direction and supervision skills.
  • Conducting thorough preparation and technical checks for upcoming projects, including comprehensive drawing reviews.
  • Attending pre-start and other site meetings from the office via Teams, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Oversight of site Health & Safety, including Toolbox Talks and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Additional Tasks:
  • Carrying out site surveys on schools and other public buildings across the UK, utilizing measured survey skills.
  • Setting out engineering, ensuring accurate and efficient project execution.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Ability to read and understand set out, engineering, and fabrication drawings.
  • Ability to carry out measured surveys, including levels.
  • Construction/steel fabrication-related background, with a strong understanding of technical principles.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft products, such as Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commercial awareness, with a strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Methodical, tidy, and presentable, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Punctual and polite, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Driving license, with a willingness to travel as required.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • SSSTS/SMSTS certification, with a strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • DBS clearance, with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • CSCS qualified, with a strong understanding of construction industry standards.
  • Experience in canopy or similar steel structure installation, with a strong understanding of technical principles.
  • CAD drawing ability, with a strong understanding of design software.

In return, as a Project Manager - Construction, you will receive a salary of between £40k to £50k per annum, with a competitive benefits package and opportunities for career growth and development. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm, with flexibility required to support site activity and some travelling.
