About the Role

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Graphic Designer / Artworker / Illustrator to join our design team at Toy World Magazine. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality print-ready packaging designs for our range of toys, games, and gadgets.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Produce high-quality design concepts including illustrations while maintaining brand consistency and adhering to our company's visual identity.
  2. Manage your own workload, ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard, while meeting the expectations of our clients and stakeholders.
  3. Liaise with clients and external contractors, including printers, to ensure designs are print-ready and meet all the relevant recycling and safety warning standards, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
  4. Maintain strong file management and organisation throughout the design process, ensuring that all files are up-to-date and easily accessible.
  5. Use project management and communication tools, such as GoodDay and Teams, to keep track of project progress and collaborate with team members.

Key Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with a strong portfolio that showcases your skills and expertise.
  2. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, with a strong understanding of design principles and best practices.
  3. Experience working with brand guidelines and design briefs, with a keen eye for detail and design aesthetics.
  4. Strong creative and artistic skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  5. Excellent understanding of colour theory, typography, and layout design, with a strong focus on visual storytelling and brand identity.
  6. Familiarity with design critiques and the ability to give and receive feedback, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  7. Commercial awareness and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and business growth.
