About the Role

As a Naval & Commercial Marine Layout Designer, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering innovative design solutions for our clients within the maritime industry. You'll be responsible for creating detailed layouts and designs that adhere to strict specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and refine 3D and 2D designs using parametric/spec-driven CAD systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements and technical standards.
  • Conduct thorough design appraisals to guarantee the highest quality and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in relevant technical fields and continuously enhance your skills to deliver exceptional service.
  • Collaborate effectively within a specialized technical team to achieve project objectives.
  • Contribute to problem-solving initiatives, identifying operational challenges and developing innovative solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Possess an NC/HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using parametric/spec-driven CAD systems, with expertise in Autodesk software and FORAN.
  • Bring valuable experience working on naval or commercial marine projects, ideally within shipbuilding or major conversion programs.
  • Have a solid foundation through an apprenticeship or relevant industry experience.
