About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Hunter Mason Consulting Ltd. As a Tendering and Estimating Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in generating precise and efficient cost estimates for UK-based projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Analyzing and interpreting detailed clients' requests, drawings, and/or specifications to identify valued engineered solutions.
  2. Developing accurate and timely estimates, producing clear and detailed quotations.
  3. Attending pre- and post-tender bid meetings with clients and/or their representatives.
  4. Working under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed, and calm manner.
  5. Developing and building good working relationships with clients.
  6. Identifying and developing new customers.
  7. Identifying new suppliers and contractors to improve safety, performance, and profit.
Requirements
  1. A confident and self-motivated individual with the ability to be innovative while complying with policies and procedures.
  2. Able to manage situations when workload presents conflicting demands on time availability, demonstrating an ability to effectively prioritize and schedule.
  3. Developing and selecting effective solutions to problems and managing risk.
  4. Communicating facts, ideas, and proposals to others in an effective and persuasive manner.
  5. Corresponding and negotiating with clients, suppliers, contractors, and colleagues.
  6. Applying Safety, Health, and Environmental and Welfare policies and procedures.
  7. Working with others to develop their knowledge and skills.
  8. Prioritizing and managing personal workload and delivering tasks to time and quality requirements.
  9. Delivering efficient and effective customer service.
Essential Qualifications and Attributes
  1. HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
  2. Knowledge of LV, HV, and EHV distribution networks and protection systems.
  3. Civil Engineering/Utilities experience.
  4. Commercial awareness.
  5. Full UK driving license.
Desirable Qualifications and Attributes
  1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  2. Chartered Engineer status.
  3. Customer and subcontractor negotiations skills.
  4. HV and LV design.
  5. CDM.
  6. Experience in the utility construction industry with a complete understanding of gas, water, and electric distribution infrastructures.
