Overview
We are seeking an experienced Explosives Supervisor to oversee operations at our Dowlow Quarry. This role is crucial for ensuring safety and efficiency in all blasting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety protocols.
- Conduct face profiling and accurately mark out shots.
- Design blast specifications and manage the safe transfer and storage of explosives.
- Ensure the proper charging and firing of production shots.
- Collaborate effectively with drilling teams to optimize operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Ideally, candidates should be working towards or possess an NVQ Level 3 in shot firing and an MPQC shot firing/explosives supervision card.
- While not mandatory, having quarry passports and certifications for operating 50T loading shovels and 40T articulated dumpers would be advantageous.
