About the Role
Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medicines Distribution Manager to lead the Pharmacy Stores service across both our sites.
As the Medicines Distribution Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of stocked medications to clinical areas. You will oversee stock management within the Stores area and collaborate closely with the Pharmacy Distribution Automated Cabinet Manager to deliver a seamless ward automation service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Pharmacy Stores teams at both Guy's and St Thomas' sites, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize medication distribution processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the healthcare system to ensure seamless medication supply chains.
- Maintain strict adherence to all relevant regulations and legislation governing medication distribution, including Wholesale Dealers Licence and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
- Oversee inventory management systems, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely replenishment.
- Support the Deputy Responsible Person for the Wholesale Dealer's Authorisation in upholding regulatory standards.
About Our Pharmacy Stores Teams
Our Pharmacy Stores teams are dedicated to providing a safe and reliable medication supply chain. With over 30 employees, we deliver medications to over 100 Omnicell cabinets across Guy's, Evelina, and St Thomas' sites. We also handle manual top-ups, off-site requests, and community deliveries.
Patient safety is paramount in our operations. The Medicines Distribution Manager will work closely with medicines safety leads to ensure robust governance and risk management within the service.
