Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Management Team at the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist technical pharmacy expertise to support the quality of patient care and compliance with UK Law and associated medicines legislation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement, distribution, and supply of pharmaceutical products based on clinical need and cost-effective support the implementation and maintenance of medicines governance systems and processes across the Trust.
  • Lead on the end-to-end management of the storage and supply of medicines Trust-wide, including receipt of deliveries from suppliers and the onward supply chain to Trust locations.
  • Supervise the Medicines Distribution & Logistics Medicines Store and ensure that demand of medicines is met across the Trust and that medicines are kept in a secure manner.
  • Support the development and delivery of medicine management training, if required and agreed, for a range of individuals including clinicians and non-clinicians.
  • Contribute towards the delivery of the appropriate quality standards and targets outlined in the Trust's Risk Management Strategy.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of medicines management services. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy practice, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of developing and writing Standard Operating Procedures, supporting staff with training, and managing staff. They will also have experience of undertaking research activities, dispensing clinical trial medicines, and stock management. A background in financial management and experience of delivering induction and competency-based training would be desirable.
