Job Title: 3rd Line IT Project Engineer

Location: Stevenage (Head Office and Customer Sites)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £45,000 (Dependent on experience)

Working hours: 08:30-18:00, Monday to Friday (Excluding Public Holidays)

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to join our team as a 3rd Line IT Project Engineer. The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT infrastructure management, problem-solving, and technical support.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical support to customers across various sites
  2. Deliver projects on customer sites, ensuring timely and efficient implementation
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  4. Manage and support IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security
  5. Advise clients on system improvements and future IT strategies
  6. Work closely with internal staff, clients, and 3rd parties to ensure high-quality service delivery
  7. Keep accurate and up-to-date technical documentation
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 3 years' experience working at an MSP in both onsite and support desk roles
  2. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  3. Excellent communication and customer service skills
  4. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Microsoft Intune
  5. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Entra ID, SharePoint/OneDrive, and Teams
  6. Expertise in managing Windows Server, including Active Directory, AD Sync, and Group Policy
  7. Solid understanding of virtualization (Hyper-V), LAN/WAN, Routing, Switching, VLANs, VPNs, and WatchGuard firewalls
  8. Proficiency in backup, recovery, and business continuity concepts
  9. Familiarity with security frameworks like Cyber Essentials
  10. Experience working with PSA tools (preferably Autotask) and managing to SLAs
Desirable:

Microsoft certifications and familiarity with ITIL or other ITSM frameworks would be a plus.
