About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Officer to join our Waste Management Team at Gloucestershire County Council.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the day-to-day delivery of contracts for the management of Household Recycling Centres (HRCs), off-take of recyclable materials from HRCs, composting, anaerobic digestion (AD), waste transfer and closed landfill environmental monitoring.
  • Support the future planning and procurement of contracts for waste management services.
  • Collect and analyse data to understand tonnage and site usage trends, verify tonnages and ensure the correct payment of invoices and receipt of income.
  • Build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including service providers and colleagues.
  • Produce reports and ensure that meetings are documented.
  • Deliver projects and analyse performance and financial data to support service improvements and efficiencies.
Requirements
  • Experience in waste management or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a busy and varied environment.
  • Project delivery experience and ability to analyse performance and financial data.
