Role Overview

As the Community Café Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing a café within a day centre, with the aim of fostering community engagement and ensuring the café's success. Your innovative approach will be essential in attracting and involving local residents.

You will cultivate a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for trainees, ensuring that they receive the necessary guidance to develop essential skills and achieve positive outcomes.

In your capacity as Coordinator, you will oversee the café's daily operations, including the production of high-quality baked goods, inventory management, and financial transactions. Compliance with Food Standards Agency regulations and maintaining a safe working environment will be key responsibilities.

We seek an individual who shares our enthusiasm for the café's success, demonstrating self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Proficiency in digital tools, including MS Word and Excel, as well as confidence in social media engagement, is required.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a unique combination of skills and attributes, including:

- Experience in café operations or a similar environment, with the ability to adapt processes for individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with the adults we support, customers, and the broader community, demonstrating a genuine commitment to community involvement.

- The ability to swiftly identify challenges and implement effective solutions.

- A compassionate understanding of the diverse needs of individuals, with prior experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism being highly advantageous.

- A dedication to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

- Creativity and initiative in developing engaging ideas to draw the community into the café.
