Paint Chemist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Paint Chemist to join our team at our offices near Manchester. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for improving, testing, and troubleshooting our products, as well as sourcing and testing raw materials, manufacturing procedures, and quality systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute pilot plant and scale-up of products from laboratory trials to production facility.
  • Develop new formulations and produce samples.
  • Assist in the routine operation of the R&D Laboratory.
  • Analyse and evaluate raw materials and competitor products.
  • Investigate and formulate improvements of products and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop an understanding of research and communicate results to the Technical Director.
  • Become familiar with and actively support all provisions of the Quality System.

Requirements: Previous experience as a Paint Chemist, ideally working with decorative paints. Colour matching and Quality Control of colour collateral would be an advantage.
