Role Overview

Location: West Bromwich

The primary responsibility is to conduct safe and effective inspections, servicing, and repairs of all vehicles, trailers, and associated equipment according to established schedules and operational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that repairs are performed to meet or exceed the minimum standards set by VOSA.
  • Execute tasks in alignment with established safety, environmental, and maintenance protocols.
  • Collaborate with the VMU shift Coordinator and Logistics team to guarantee vehicle readiness in line with delivery timelines.
  • Achieve shift KPIs by working efficiently and effectively.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, reporting any compliance issues to the VMU Coordinator.
  • Utilize available resources effectively to perform specific tasks or responsibilities.
  • Maintain vehicles and other fleet assets in accordance with Company and VOSA standards.
  • Assist the VMU Coordinator in coordinating with Transport and Logistics departments regarding vehicle availability.
  • Ensure the effective use of established subcontractors.
  • Flexibly undertake any additional VMU duties as required.
The Ideal Candidate

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • City and Guilds LGV Qualifications or a relevant equivalent in LGV Vehicle Crafts.
  • LGV Licence C+E.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Prior experience in LGV fleet maintenance operations.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
