About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our New Product Development (NPD) Team at our Rosyth site. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and delivering commercially viable products/projects, in line with the company's growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply competent knowledge in material selection, pressure vessel design, manufacturing/fabrication methods, structural design and analysis, vibration analysis and mitigation, pipe stress analysis, and cryogenic piping applications.
  • Originator/check/approve responsibilities for project deliverables, including piping isometrics, system drawings, bill of materials, engineering analysis work, and reports.
  • Work collaboratively with Piping Designers to streamline the iterative design process required for the completion of pipe stress analysis (PSA) work.

Requirements:

  • Industry experience (preferably marine) but would consider experience from other industries such as water, wastewater, power, pharmaceutical, drinks, or food industry.
  • Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) plus design and analysis software packages (MathCAD, Bentley AutoPipe, STAAD).
  • An engineering degree (preferably MEng) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Chartered engineering status (or working towards) with the IMechE.
