Job Overview

**Job Title:** Instrument Technician

**Working Hours:** Monday to Friday 7.30AM till 4.30PM

Key Responsibilities
  • **Routine Maintenance Checks:** Identify, schedule, carry out, and record routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • **Non-Routine Maintenance Repairs:** Identify, schedule, carry out, and record non-routine maintenance repairs to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
  • **Instrumentation Equipment Servicing:** Perform routine servicing of process control instrumentation equipment, including transmitters, controllers, and analysers.
  • **Vendor-Specified Maintenance:** Assist with or carry out vendor-specified routine maintenance to ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • **Site Services Maintenance:** Maintain all site services in good working order, adhering to safe working practices and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • **Call-Out Response:** Respond to 24-hour call-outs or provide advice on plant breakdowns outside normal working hours, where possible and available.
  • **Housekeeping and Safety:** Maintain facilities clean and tidy, free of preventable hazards, and ensure general housekeeping is performed to maintain a safe working environment.
  • **Team Support:** Assist other technicians or operational staff as necessary, demonstrating a general understanding of process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
  • **Equipment Isolation:** Carry out equipment isolations to permit maintenance, ensuring equipment is safe to work on.
  • **New Plant Installation and Commissioning:** Assist during the installation and commissioning of new plant facilities.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • **Maintenance Experience:** 4-5 years of maintenance experience on equipment related to installed instrument and/or electrical equipment.
  • **Instrument Qualification:** Possess instrument qualification (apprenticeship or NVQ level 3) with a good working knowledge in electrical.
  • **Competencies:** Must be able to plan and prioritize daily activities to ensure safety systems and process control systems operate safely and efficiently. Must be a team player and participate in the exchange of knowledge and communicate with all levels of management and commercial third parties.
