Job Title: Senior Practitioner

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Practitioner to join our team at SW Locums. As a Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of complex and high-need cases within a child protection context.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of complex and high-need cases within a child protection context.
  • Take appropriate initiative when working to support children and their families.
  • Support other practitioners in the team through mentoring, advice, support, and occasional shadowing on visits or for meetings.
  • Build positive, supportive, and respectful relationships with families in order to help support children in need of help or protection.
  • Help support families to raise their children safely within their family network by supporting and augmenting their support network.
  • Explore and implement alternate plans to ensure children grow up in safe, nurturing, and happy homes that achieve long-term permanence.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker with at least 3 years' post-qualifying experience as a social worker.
  • Extensive UK experience in working with children looked after and experience in care proceedings.
  • Social Work England Registration is Mandatory for this post.
  • Enhanced DBS Issued within the past 12 months or registered with the DBS Update Service.
  • Right to work in the UK.
