Job Title: Process Improvement Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Improvement Engineer to join our team at PepsiCo. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving productivity improvements across our manufacturing operations, analyzing current practices, and developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Improvement & Problem Solving
  • Analyze performance reports to identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with production teams and functional departments to identify and develop process improvements.
  • Lead and facilitate problem-solving projects using lean methodologies, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), SIPOC, and DMAIC.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Site Productivity Performance
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of future productivity projects.
  • Support the annual budget for the department area.
  • Collaborate with production teams and functional departments to identify and develop process improvements.
Departmental Capital Planning
  • Assist in the development of the department capital plans to support the delivery of business objectives.
  • Coordinate and complete cost studies, and work with the project team to identify capital requirements.
  • Manage and lead operational projects via project plans.
Support Commercial Change Agenda
  • Support R&D and Change Lead by involvement in the Stage-gate process and conception of new product development.
  • Support and plan relevant trials, and involvement in the commissioning process.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with production teams and functional departments. A strong understanding of lean methodologies and process improvement tools is essential. Experience with project management and budgeting is also required.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge in a consistent and methodical way.
  • Planning ability and experience with project management.
  • Lean Six Sigma principles and experience with DMAIC.
  • Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Desirable Skills:

  • Engineering background and experience with PLCs.
  • LSS Kaisen Leader or above, or training to Green Belt level.
  • Strong coach and facilitator with the ability to influence behavior and identify training needs.
  • Financial analysis and experience with budgeting.
