Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Improvement Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving productivity improvements across our manufacturing operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Improvement & Problem Solving
  1. Analyse performance reports to identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
  2. Collaborate with production teams and functional departments to identify and implement process improvements.
  3. Lead and facilitate problem-solving projects using lean methodologies, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), SIPOC, and DMAIC.
  4. Develop and execute improvement projects, including project management and coordination.
Site Productivity Performance
  1. Identify and conduct productivity projects to drive business growth and improvement.
  2. Maintain a pipeline of future productivity projects to ensure continuous improvement.
  3. Support the annual budget for the department area and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Departmental Capital Planning
  1. Assist in the development of department capital plans to support business objectives.
  2. Coordinate and complete cost studies to identify capital requirements.
  3. Manage and lead operational projects using project plans.
Support Commercial Change Agenda
  1. Support the R&D and Change Lead in the Stage-gate process and conception of new products.
  2. Support and plan relevant trials to drive business growth.
  3. Involvement in the commissioning process, including change of standard settings if appropriate.
Training, Coaching and Mentoring
  1. Educate department employees on key performance indicators (KPIs) and business information.
  2. Coach teams on the costs of operations and how their actions can impact these costs.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent interpersonal skills. They will be able to analyse data to optimise manufacturing processes and apply technical knowledge in a consistent and methodical way. A strong role model for Safety, Quality, and Food Safety behaviours is essential.

Microsoft Office and Lean Six Sigma/DMAIC principles are required. Project management skills and communication skills are also essential. A strong coach and facilitator with the ability to influence behaviour and identify training needs at all levels is required.

Desirable skills include an engineering background, PLC experience, LSS Kaizen Leader or above, and previous food industry experience.
