Job Title: Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team in Inverclyde, Scotland.

About the Role:

This is a full-time post (10PA) providing comprehensive psychiatric care for patients registered at GP practices within Greenock, Gourock, and the Western portion of Inverclyde.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide outpatient and inpatient care for patients in the area.
  • Work closely with the Old Age Psychiatry liaison team, Community Mental Health team, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to meet the needs of patients with complex mental health conditions.
  • Contribute to the development of the service and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Full GMC Registration and a license to practise.
  • Eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
  • Equivalent training for non-UK applicants.

As a newly qualified Consultant, you will be offered a minimum of 1 Core Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) which includes CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, revalidation, job planning, and management meetings.

This will be reviewed within 6 months (or earlier if required) of appointment and revised upwards if additional responsibilities are agreed.
