Shift Manager - German Doner Kebab

The role of a Shift Manager is essential in assisting the franchisee to ensure the establishment operates smoothly and profitably while adhering to company policies and procedures. You will directly guide, mentor, and motivate all team members to guarantee they deliver complete customer satisfaction and exceptional products consistently, while managing costs and enhancing sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations and upkeep of the restaurant, supporting the General Restaurant Manager in the development of food offerings and services.
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement strategies to improve restaurant performance as directed by the Restaurant Manager, focusing on sales and profitability.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Execute marketing strategies, including promotional events and discount programs.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports at the end of each shift/week, covering staff management, food control, waste management, and sales analysis.
  • Sales and Staff Development: Create and implement plans for departmental sales growth, profit enhancement, and staff training.

Stock Management:

  • Order or requisition food and supplies necessary for efficient operations.
  • Conduct weekly/daily orders to maintain stock levels and ensure timely placement of special orders.
  • Collaborate with other Supervisors and Managers to coordinate stock deliveries and maintain accurate records.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with established standards.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training and ongoing support to staff members, with suitable training provided to the successful candidate.
  • Ensure staff are well-groomed and prepared for work at all times.
  • Maintain secure, organized, and clean storage areas to uphold high standards of quality control, hygiene, and safety.
  • Ensure food presentation meets company standards and that the team delivers excellent service consistently.
  • Engage with customers to ensure they are enjoying their meals and address any inquiries or complaints promptly.
  • Thoroughly train staff on health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential revenue opportunities.
  • Possess knowledge of ingredients and cooking methods as needed by customers.
  • Prepare duty rosters while maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Assist other staff members as required.
  • Minimize waste effectively.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and motivate others, showcasing excellent customer service skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Hold a basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Conduct daily staff briefings and ensure punctuality for each shift.
  • Monitor and record temperatures of freezers and chillers hourly.
  • Coordinate store maintenance as necessary.
  • Support and adhere to the company's equal opportunities policy.
  • Exercise caution in service to prevent accidents.
  • Ensure cash and credit card security.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the role.
