Position: Java Software Engineer

Location: Burgess Hill, UK

Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in hands-on software engineering, ensuring high-quality code and comprehensive unit testing.
  • Interpret business needs and contribute to application development and maintenance.
  • Continuously refactor code, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to maintain technical excellence.
  • Write maintainable code that is easily testable and compatible across various web platforms and browsers.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in crafting enterprise-level server-side applications utilizing Java as the core programming language.
  • Strong expertise in Java programming, data structures, algorithms, web services, REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and messaging systems like Kafka and Solace.
  • Understanding of CI/CD methodologies, proficiency in writing unit tests, and providing operational support for applications as required.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS principles and experience with databases like Oracle and DB2, as well as NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and Couchbase.
  • Experience with various mocking frameworks, test-driven development, and performance testing tools like JMeter and Postman.
