The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Blood Collection Specialist to enhance our patient care services. This role is pivotal in supporting the clinical teams by collecting blood samples from patients, including those with challenging venous access.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized care plans under the guidance of clinical staff.
- Perform blood sample collections in various settings, including inpatient wards and outpatient clinics.
- Contribute to the comprehensive Phlebotomy service operational throughout the year.
- Adhere to Trust standards and statutory regulations while operating within defined competencies.

Role Specifics
In this role, you will be trained to interact with patients and collect vital blood samples at our main site. While prior experience in Phlebotomy is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite as comprehensive training will be provided.
We value candidates who possess strong interpersonal skills and can approach patient interactions with empathy and professionalism. Familiarity with computerized systems is essential, as our service relies on efficient data management.
Work Schedule
This position requires a commitment of 20 hours per week, distributed over five mornings.
