About the Role

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Blood Sciences Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality analytical, advisory, and interpretive services to clinicians for the processing of pathological specimens in Haematology, Immunology, and Blood Transfusion, as well as Clinical Chemistry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure departmental quality standards are maintained through adherence to standard operating procedures, implementation of quality control programmes, and instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in the Departmental Out-of-Hours shift and on-call services as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of quality standards by actively participating in all relevant quality activities.

About the Department

The Blood Sciences Department is a dynamic and innovative team that provides a comprehensive range of analytical and support services to the Trust. We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, patient safety, and staff development. The Department is composed of the following sections: Clinical Chemistry, Haematology, Immunology, and Blood Transfusion.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to possess good keyboard skills and be highly literate and numerate. HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist is essential, and experience in a similar role would be advantageous.

Working Pattern
