Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team as a Drug and Alcohol Outreach Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with drug and alcohol issues.

The Role

As a Drug and Alcohol Outreach Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting clients in re-engaging with treatment services and reducing unsuccessful discharges.
  • Delivering evidence-based interventions, including assessment, recovery planning, and aftercare planning.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to provide comprehensive support to clients.
  • Co-facilitating SMART Recovery Groups and Recovery Café.
  • Supporting volunteers, peer mentors, and service user representatives in their roles.

The Service

i-access is an integrated service delivered in partnership by Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust and Via. Our service provides substance misuse treatment for individuals aged 18 and above in Surrey.

Key Responsibilities

As a Drug and Alcohol Outreach Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a caseload of clients and providing regular support and guidance.
  • Developing and implementing individualized recovery plans.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure comprehensive support to clients.
  • Providing training and support to volunteers and peer mentors.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in substance misuse or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and recovery planning.
