As we advance in our mission of growth and innovation to meet the demands of the nuclear energy sector, Boccard UK Limited, a prominent authority in engineering, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance within the nuclear energy field, is in search of a skilled and knowledgeable QC Inspector (Coatings, Welding Inspection & NDT) to enhance our Quality Team.

Located in Welshpool, the QC Inspector will report directly to the Senior Project Quality Manager, ensuring the delivery of compliant products through proactive monitoring, evaluation, and enhancement actions with suppliers.

We are looking for a qualified QC Inspector with extensive experience to uphold the highest standards in our coating, NDT, and welding operations, utilizing your expertise to refine and elevate our quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for contract coating and painting methodologies.
  • Provide specialized knowledge in various coating inspection technologies.
  • Incorporate the latest advancements in coating inspection into our operational practices.
  • Assess and enhance coating inspection procedures.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for coating inspections.
  • Review and improve quality control protocols for coated products.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Recent experience in the Nuclear Sector or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Expertise in coating inspection techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Certifications such as CSWIP 3.1, PCN level 2 PT, and MT.
  • Painting and coating qualifications like BGAS-CSWIP or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to evaluate certification against specification requirements.
  • Proficient in reviewing technical documentation such as Lifetime Quality Records.
  • Competent in assessing suppliers and materials for compliance.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of raw materials at supplier locations.
  • Review documentation such as 3.1/3.2 certificates for materials and consumables.
  • Perform inspections of welding, NDT, and painting as necessary.
  • Execute independent inspections of Boccard and its suppliers' work.
  • Generate and review documentation, procedures, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and release certificates.
  • Ensure compliance with controlling documents throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Focus on accuracy and detail to meet client expectations.
  • Utilize SharePoint and Windows software competently.
  • Conduct product and process inspections according to applicable standards.
  • Participate in technical product qualifications and audits.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prioritize safety in all operations.

Ensure that the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) is adhered to at every stage of manufacturing and installation, guaranteeing alignment with client quality requirements.
