Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our Child Assessment and Safeguarding Team (CAST) within the Social Care sector.

Work Environment: This role provides flexible working hours and fosters a collaborative team atmosphere with consistent supervision on case management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee a caseload of intricate cases as assigned, prioritizing tasks and responsibilities to ensure compliance with statutory obligations for children.
  • Conduct visits to children, organize reviews, prepare court reports, and adhere to timelines while meeting both national and local performance benchmarks.
  • Develop targeted and effective care plans that outline clear objectives and desired outcomes, while effectively managing risks to children.
  • Investigate cases involving children who have experienced or are at risk of significant harm, providing comprehensive written and verbal reports based on thorough analysis of complex information.
  • Plan and deliver a variety of suitable services and interventions tailored to the needs of children, families, and caregivers, ensuring alignment with local and national policies and standards.
  • Facilitate multi-agency meetings (e.g., Children in Need, core group meetings) to formulate plans and provide recommendations.
  • Make informed decisions and take appropriate actions regarding casework, ensuring prompt and effective handling of child protection matters in accordance with established procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager on specific projects related to customer feedback, complaints, and service enhancements, implementing recommendations to improve service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year post-qualifying experience in the UK Social Care sector.
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (can be obtained through our services).
