Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Palliative Care Nurse to join our team at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. Our Hospice provides high-quality care to patients with cancer, HIV, and other life-threatening illnesses.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of skilled nursing care and promoting a progressive attitude to patient care through research and evidence-based practice. They will also supervise and teach staff, healthcare assistants, and student nurses, and assist the Ward Manager in leadership and management of the hospice in-patient unit.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with experience at Band 5 or above in specialist palliative care or oncology, with demonstrable evidence-based practice and experience of identifying and dealing with risks. The ideal candidate will also have experience of supporting junior staff and be able to use assertive communication skills.
