About the Role

Gleeds Corporate Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Cost Assurance and Verification Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure cost verification team, you will be responsible for providing commercial and financial assurance and verification of costs on a range of projects in different sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial and financial assurance and verification of costs on a range of projects in different sectors
  • Analysis and assessment of contractor's accounting and commercial systems and processes
  • Prepare risk-based audit and verification plans
  • Detailed audit and analysis of a range of cost types
  • Prepare high quality and robust outputs and working papers
  • Understanding and interpretation of different types of contractual frameworks
  • Engagement with contractors, clients, regulatory bodies and other relevant stakeholders
  • Preparation of clear and concise reports
  • Development of forensic technology and analysis tools
  • Support the Head of Cost Assurance and other senior staff within Gleeds

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Cost Assurance and Verification Specialist who has a strong background in cost verification, internal/external audit, financial reviews on significant infrastructure and construction projects. You will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

You will have a methodical way of thinking and approach to work, with good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments. You will also have excellent problem, negotiating, finance and numeracy management skills, as well as sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience in data analysis tools such as Power BI and contract management and administration systems would be an advantage. You will also have the ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily, and be able to work as part of a team, and/or to lead a team, depending on level.

MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or relevant practical experience would be an advantage.
