Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Practitioner Social Worker to join our Support and Intervention Team at East Lothian Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and families to achieve better outcomes in life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments and interventions with children and families, using the Signs of Safety framework and relationship-based interventions.
  • Develop and implement plans to promote the safety and well-being of children, working closely with our Family Support Work and Intensive Outreach Team.
  • Contribute to the development of services and improvement activity, ensuring that the right support is offered at the right time.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and families.
Requirements
  • Sound value base and excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Child Protection processes and making permanent plans for children.
  • Knowledge of Children and Families social work legislation, roles and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a supportive team environment and contribute to the development of services.
