Vacancy Overview

East Lothian Council is seeking a skilled Social Services Professional to join the Disability Team. The team provides specialist support to children, young people, and their families affected by complex and enduring disabilities.

The successful candidate will hold a caseload of children and young people with complex needs and be a key member of the team. They will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement packages of support, ensuring the best possible outcomes for service users.

The Disability Team is committed to promoting an open and trusting culture, prioritizing continuous professional development, and supporting staff to achieve a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold a caseload of children and young people with complex needs
  • Develop and implement packages of support in collaboration with colleagues
  • Work closely with families to understand their needs and develop tailored support plans
  • Contribute to the development of the Disability Team's services and improvement activities

Requirements

  • Relevant experience and qualifications in social work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Working Arrangements
