**Job Summary**

Empowering Learning is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports and Learning Mentor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for working closely with pupils who present with challenging behavior, leading sports sessions, and providing 1:1 support to children in class.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Work closely with pupils who present with challenging behavior, using your expertise to de-escalate situations and provide support.
  • Lead sports sessions at break and lunchtimes, promoting physical activity and teamwork.
  • Provide 1:1 support to children in class, helping them to reach their full potential.
  • Use sports as a way to mentor children, promoting positive behavior and attitudes.
  • Liaise with the class teacher and school SENCO to ensure the progress of pupils is tracked and supported.
  • Assist the class teacher with the setup of lessons, ensuring a smooth and effective learning environment.

**Requirements**

  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant degree.
  • Holds at least one sports-based qualification.
  • Has had either TeamTeach training or MAPA Training (desirable but not essential).
  • Has experience supporting children with challenging behaviors.
  • Has an understanding of supporting SEN pupils.
  • Can inspire pupils to reach their full potential.
