Continuous At Sea Deterrence stands as one of the Royal Navy's primary objectives. 43 Cdo FPGRM is responsible for safeguarding this capability while also supporting the operations of the Commando Force. Within the Logistics Department of 43 Cdo, you will provide crucial logistical assistance across all facets of the unit, ensuring operational commitments are met.

This role is advertised for 37 hours per week.

Role Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to support 43 Cdo in achieving their objectives and tasks.

Key Duties:

  • Manage the Clothing and Equipment (G1098) Stores Office/storeroom, processing documentation related to inventory (demands, issues, and receipts) in line with MOD accounting standards (training will be provided).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records using MOD accounting systems.
  • Collaborate with a mixed team of military and civilian personnel to effectively manage unit storerooms and ensure the safe handling, storage, and control of stock items.
  • Adhere to current Safety, Health, Environment, and Fire (SHEF) regulations within the workplace.
  • Engage with unit personnel in a customer-facing role during store operating hours.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a well-organized and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a team environment while also being capable of working independently. The ideal candidate may have prior experience in warehouse or inventory management, but full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a new career within the Civil Service.

The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in basic mathematics and written English, along with competence in various IT software applications, including Office 365.

Benefits

In addition to a salary of £22,011, the Ministry of Defence contributes £5,942 towards your membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Additional benefits include:

Some roles may allow for a combination of office and home-based working, subject to business needs. This arrangement is non-contractual, and all office-based employees are expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in the office, depending on capacity and required adjustments.

External recruits new to the Civil Service will undergo a six-month probation period.

Travel expenses incurred for interviews will not be reimbursed.
