About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our team as a Clinical Midwifery Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical and managerial midwifery leadership within our maternity unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and managerial midwifery leadership within the maternity unit.
  • Work with Matrons and ward managers to ensure the flow of clinical activities and staff deployment is maintained within the maternity unit.
  • Be visible and accessible to women and their families, ensuring they can seek information, help, and support or communicate problematic or celebratory issues.
  • Contribute to discharge planning by liaising between inpatient maternity services, NICU, and Community Midwifery Service.
Requirements
  • 3 years' experience of working in an acute maternity hospital setting at Band 6 Level or 1 year at Band 7 level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of national and local education/training requirements for MDT within the PDM remit of practice.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use different IT databases, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Proficient clinical skills.
  • Strong sense of commitment to openness, honesty, and integrity in undertaking the role.
  • High level of work organization, self-motivation, drive for performance, and flexibility in approach and attitude.
