About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Domestic Manager to join our team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As an Assistant Domestic Manager, you will play a key role in managing our domestic services department, ensuring that our cleaning standards are maintained to the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of domestic supervisors and cleaning operatives to ensure that cleaning services are delivered to the required standards.
- Liaise with ward managers and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or concerns.
- Attend meetings with infection control, matrons, and site management to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Conduct regular supervisor 1-1 meetings to discuss performance, provide feedback, and set goals.
- Monitor and control staffing hours, ensuring that labor hours are within the master rota.
- Ensure health and safety compliance, including conducting investigations into accidents and developing risk assessments.
- Develop and implement local work schedules, highlighting best practices and providing written instructions.
- Assist the domestic services manager with the day-to-day management of external contracts.
- Be flexible in working hours to meet operational demands.
- Ensure that all staff mandatory training is completed as required.
- Ensure that all areas are appropriately staffed to deliver the required level of service.
Person Specification
- HND or equivalent in a relevant area.
- Supervisory or management qualification or equivalent.
- Experience of domestic services management, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
