Job Title: Lead Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer

As a Lead Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you will engage in a unique role that encompasses a variety of responsibilities, from the decommissioning of outdated nuclear facilities to supporting critical operations in nuclear power generation.
In this position, you will oversee the execution of engineering and technical tasks, leveraging your expertise and knowledge across diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster effective collaboration among Engineering and other functional teams.
  • Support efficient customer management by liaising with clients and suppliers on design matters and assisting with procurement specifications.
  • Ensure that procedures, codes, and standards are accurately identified and applied to engineering and technical tasks.
  • Contribute to the Product Safety Assessment process.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with both internal and external stakeholders at a detailed level.
  • Conduct technical investigations and analyses to provide data for problem assessment and design enhancements.
  • Drive process improvements within operational and design lifecycles to achieve continuous enhancements in quality, cycle time, and asset utilization.
  • Utilize engineering domain knowledge to develop technical solutions and documentation in support of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Generate, review, and validate outputs including calculations, analyses, technical reports, specifications, and method statements.
  • Ensure that appropriate reviews, validations, and approvals are conducted on completed work.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor assigned tasks and projects, ensuring that requirements are met in terms of time, quality, and cost.
  • Assist the Project Manager in the planning, control, and delivery of tasks and projects.
  • Make engineering decisions within your area of responsibility and delegated authority.
  • Act as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorized.


This role operates on a standard 37-hour work week and includes options for hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
Essential Qualifications for the Lead Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer:

  • Experience working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver a variety of project activities.
  • Proven experience in managing diverse tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with various disciplines.

Educational Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant engineering discipline, with demonstrable experience.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain the necessary security clearance for this role.
