Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Safely and efficiently deliver ready-mix concrete to various customer locations, working closely with the shipper to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily checks on the safety and condition of the vehicle, recording any faults and reporting them promptly to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Asset Management: Care for the company's vehicle and assets while in your charge, adhering to manufacturer's recommendations and all legal and company requirements.
  • Driving Efficiency: Drive as efficiently and productively as possible within prevailing road and traffic conditions, giving due consideration to the health and safety of yourself, the public, and other road users.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Comply with all relevant legislation, including Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements, and ensure all documentation is completed promptly and accurately.
  • Customer Service: Represent the company in a professional and considerate manner at all times, promptly reporting any issues to your manager or supervisor.
  • Team Support: Support the wider Maen Karne business to deliver its operational plans and perform any other reasonable duties assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Must have a valid HGV Class 2 licence and hold a valid CPC and Tachograph card.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong health and safety awareness, customer-focused with the ability to deliver 1st class customer service, good timekeeper, and able to work unsupervised.
  • Personal Qualities: Willingness to learn and undertake further training on other vehicles and equipment, good geographical knowledge, and a CAN-DO attitude.
