About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Support Worker to join our team at Ashleigh House, a 26-bed residential care home in Darlington. As a Senior Support Worker, you will be instrumental in providing high-quality, enabling care to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, mental health issues, and complex care needs. Your leadership and expertise will be key to our success, and you will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining detailed, person-centered support plans that promote health, wellbeing, relationships, and diversity, while ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards.
- Implementing robust activity plans that encourage autonomy, new experiences, and flexibility, regularly engaging with individuals to seek their views.
- Supporting individuals in financial planning, medication self-administration, and regular health reviews, adhering to the Mental Capacity Act principles.
- Tailoring the environment to meet individual needs, ensuring Health and Safety policies, including Fire Safety, are followed.
- Recruiting and managing staff through robust induction, supervision, and training processes, ensuring person-centered schedules and personal development plans.
- Delivering outstanding care and support by adhering to Salutem's Quality Assurance framework, embodying core values, and managing incidents according to policies.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in providing care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, mental health issues, and complex care needs.
- Leadership and management skills, with the ability to develop and maintain person-centered support plans and implement robust activity plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with individuals, families, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Mental Capacity Act and Health and Safety regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a commitment to delivering high-quality care and support.
