Data Consultant

As a Data Consultant at Kainos, you will combine thought leadership, delivery, and commercial experience to identify and secure new business opportunities in digital transformation journeys that involve vital data considerations.
Key Responsibilities- Articulate the opportunity and value it can bring to stakeholders, both business and technical.
- Facilitate analysis and design of data solutions that impact users worldwide.
- Direct teams, encourage engagement, and discussion.
- Plan and run workshops to engage with stakeholders and facilitate consensus in areas of uncertainty.
- Understand and articulate the value an organization can gain from their data in line with their business goals.
- Advise customers on how to improve their data maturity and identify compelling data opportunities.
- Work with data technology SMEs and sales teams to define and shape go-to-market offerings and develop data opportunities.
- Sustain key customer relationships with decision-makers, including CxO.
- Familiar with trends in data science and engineering, including techniques, competitors, partners, and technology trends.
- Possess an entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of helping win new business where personal expertise was a factor.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to communicate with a wide range of people and gather requirements.
- Extensive experience in business analysis in data-intensive technical environments, involved from analysis through to acceptance, launch, and live operations.
- Broad business and technology understanding of the Data & AI landscape and a proven awareness of industry trends.
- Excellent facilitation skills to lead stakeholder groups to achieve focused outcomes.
- Able to model as-is and to-be business processes and data management processes, present them to stakeholders and the team, and ensure understanding and buy-in.
- Experience in stakeholder management, comfortable challenging decisions when appropriate, and tailoring collaboration and communication styles where necessary.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering as part of an agile team.
- Responsible for the breakdown of an area of work from inception through to delivery, managing the team's backlog, ensuring quality and maturity.
- Responsible for eliciting functional, technical, and non-functional requirements, translating them into user stories for the whole team.
- Proven ability to manage scope to meet the required MVP, ensuring value is delivered.
- Good commercial awareness, always delivering within project constraints.
- Able to work flexibly and to tight deadlines.
- Experience working in a client/supplier relationship, sensitive to their needs.
- Experience contributing to sales activities, such as working on bids and writing sales proposals.
- Strong team skills, including working in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Data Architecture or Analytics background with an understanding of modern enterprise architecture patterns and a track record in delivering data-oriented solutions.
- Domain experience in Financial Services or Insurance.
- Experience working on client sites, delivering high-quality digital products.
- Experience designing AI/ML products.
- Demonstrated ability in managing, mentoring, and coaching members of your team and wider community.
- Active participant in communities of interest, such as online groups and speaking at conferences.
