Primary Responsibilities:

  • Depending on expertise, perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities to established internal quality benchmarks.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while adhering to health and safety regulations, financial targets, key performance indicators, statutory obligations, quality standards, and contractual commitments.
  • Collaborate with the scheduling team and management to optimize productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Offer constructive daily feedback on job performance to identify follow-up tasks aimed at reducing preventable failures related to water quality and environmental compliance.
  • Assist both clients and team members with technical insights as necessary.
  • Manage personal workload effectively to ensure maximum adaptability, productivity, and time management.
  • Engage in a variety of tasks as required, based on skills and capabilities. For ICO employees, this may encompass operations and maintenance activities, CFS testing, meter verification/installation, lifecycle projects, private pipe services, and general site upkeep, including tank inspections and cleaning, pipework installation and modifications, and remedial works for water compliance.
  • Uphold site standards to food-grade levels, particularly concerning water assets.
  • Support local operational emergencies.
  • Participate in an on-call operational standby rotation.
  • Execute operations and maintenance tasks at a Water Treatment facility with a capacity of 5 mega liters per day.
  • Be prepared to work shifts, including late shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Obtain Ministry of Defence clearance.
  • Travel to various sites as needed; all travel and expenses will be reimbursed.

Required Experience:
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities.
  • Familiarity with minor civil works, including drainage, manholes, and water pumps.
  • Background in plumbing installation and maintenance (if applicable).
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Effective communication skills with clients and all colleagues.
  • Proficiency in using computers and smartphones for field IT applications.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in operations and maintenance activities.
  • Familiarity with water/sewage assets.
  • Competence in using safety equipment and tools.
  • Basic understanding of risk assessment procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in water/sewage treatment, such as NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (if applicable).
  • Experience with 360 Extractor Tickets.
  • Background in farming.
  • EUSR Hygiene card.
  • Training in manual handling.
  • Certification in confined space entry (escape set or full BA).
  • Training in working at heights.
