Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Case Specialist to join our team at AWE. As a key member of our safety case team, you will play a pivotal role in assessing nuclear, explosive, and other major hazards.

About the Role

As a Safety Case Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the technical input to the planning and production of key safety documentation to facilitate operations in challenging facilities.
  • Delivering safety assessments and other technical safety documentation to agreed AWE standards for exciting new project delivery.
  • Providing technical input to the design and/or delivery of technical training.
  • Mentoring nuclear safety analysts and senior nuclear safety analysts as part of a planned development activity.
  • Developing and delivering complex safety analyses, assessments, and associated documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge and experience of working on a range of safety cases across different industries, ideally radiological, chemical, and/or explosive hazards.
  • Knowledge of the techniques used for Safety Case Assessment.
  • Experience in a nuclear, high-hazard, and/or highly regulated industry.
