About the Role:

The Pertemps Network Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide additional support to children's education in a school setting, working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, developing and implementing personalized learning plans to meet their unique requirements.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education.
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as personal care, mobility, and communication.
  • Collaborate with other support staff, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists, to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, including behavior, academic achievement, and any relevant medical or psychological information.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN support.

Requirements:

  • Recent experience working with children with special educational needs, either in a school, nursery, or child care facility.
  • A caring and nurturing attitude towards children, with a commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • A full understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection methods and responsibilities.
  • A flexible and friendly approach, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • A commitment to providing engaging and exciting learning opportunities, with a focus on student-centered learning.
  • A DBS check on the update service or a willingness to request one via the Pertemps Network Group.
