About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team at the Centre for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People. As a key member of our Communities Team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our community development project, Connecting People into Communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, hubs, and services to promote inclusive practices and support the needs of Deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase access to community resources and services for Deaf and hard of hearing people, including the provision of information and support.
  • Work closely with the Community Development Officer to collect and analyze project monitoring and evaluation data, and to develop reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support the development of positive relationships between service providers and Deaf and hard of hearing individuals, and advise providers on how to improve their services to become more accessible and inclusive.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of community events, workshops, and training sessions to promote Deaf awareness and inclusion.
  • Develop and maintain content for our website and social media channels to promote our work and services.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including Deaf and hard of hearing individuals, community organizations, and service providers.
  • Proven experience in community outreach, engagement, and development, with a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by Deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and partnership-building.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and associated software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel around Bristol and occasionally further afield, with a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
