Job Description

Harrington Starr is seeking a seasoned Cloud Security/DevSecOps professional to join their platform engineering team in a fast-paced technical environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with international trading businesses.

The role is based in a remote setting with flexible work arrangements, requiring two days a week of on-site presence in a major city.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Secure CI/CD pipelines by implementing access controls, encrypting secrets, and rotating credentials.
  • Ensure secure code practices by integrating security policies into CI/CD, running static and dynamic application security testing, and removing unencrypted secrets from version control.
  • Monitor cloud platforms continuously, identifying security concerns, and updating infrastructure as code (IAC) to remediate or providing feedback to development teams with proposed solutions.
  • Tighten access controls on cloud resources by enforcing the principle of least privilege and defining permission boundaries.
  • Develop automated tests to validate the security of the platform and applications, ensuring developers are aware of the security status of their applications.
  • Automate penetration testing and reporting to verify the effectiveness of security controls.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in coding with Python or PowerShell.
  • Broad technical knowledge with recent experience in DevSecOps/InfoSec and a passion for security.
  • Proven experience working closely with development and operations teams throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), securing pipelines, and enforcing security policies in CI/CD and cloud environments with IAC.
  • Considerable experience deploying and running applications securely in AWS or Azure, familiarity with cloud-native security tooling, and cloud security best practices.
  • Built and operated containerized workloads, understanding how to detect vulnerabilities and secure the runtime.
  • Knowledge of securing data at rest and in transit.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
